My name is Katrina Bushko, and I’d like to welcome you to the first of many blog posts as I venture to Morocco for a semester to study abroad. I have studied the past two summers in Russia, Brasil, and Morocco (yes, I’ve been to AUI before–you can check out my sumer blog here), but this is the first time I will spend an entire semester away from my dear, dear Princeton.
And so the countdown begins: only two weeks until I board a plane headed for Casablanca to start a new adventure on my own. In the meantime, I will be posting about my preparations: packing, language training, trip planning, etc. I hope that this blog will be helpful for future AUI internationals and this being my fourth solo trip (second to al-Maghreb!), I believe that I am qualified (if ever so slightly) to give some basic advice. I will refer from time to time to websites and apps and other useful ideas that I have stumbled upon on the internet (there are so many helpful things for travel out there, it’s crazy!) and wish to share with my fellow and future study-abroad-ers.
So sit back, relax, and once again, welcome to my travel blog.
